WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US
It is always an absolute pleasure to have my hair colored, cut and styled by Tania Ferrell, owner of the Colour Bar Studio. I consider myself probably the most challenging client as I never know what I want done, but when I walk out, I have a style that suits me to a tee. The staff is welcoming, friendly and incredibly talented.Alice Roberts
This salon is absolutely amazing!! It felt like home. Such a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is very genuine & kind. Tiffany did a great job with my cut! She took the time to take into consideration what I was looking for and all the details. No need to bring in a photo. Tiffany understood exactly what I wanted! grin emoticonKatherine Elizabeth

MEET OUR TEAM
Tania Ferrel-Saldana, Founder of Colour Bar Studio, is an American Board Certified Haircolorist (for more info check out https://www.haircolorist.com/). Tania trains all over the world in order to meet the demands of the discerning clientele in the DC Metro region, making Colour Bar Studio the perfect place to make your hair dreams come true.
“I became a founder because I was taught by my mother to work hard, never give up, and to fight for what I believe in.
I believe these wise words have manifested itself into what is now known as Colourbar Studio. We all have a mission in life, and my mine is to touch people’s lives through their hair. My passion for doing hair comes from the joy that I get from being able to visibly see the difference in client’s confidence and self esteem after leaving the chair. After over 25 years, I opened Colour Bar Studio five years ago to begin to make my own impact in the industry. My passion for hair has driven me to give back, inspire new talent stylists and to show them how to put their heart into what they love.
My favorite projects involve balayage, red color, hair extensions and color corrections; I love a challenge. As a former Wella Educator, I believe that the learning process never ends. Here at Colour Bar Studio, I emphasize this by having regular educational classes to keep the salon up to date with all the latest trends and techniques.”
As part of Colour Bar Studio’s mission to make a difference, Tania has aligned the salon with the National Capital Lyme Association and hosts an annual fundraiser in the spring. All proceeds raised are donated to the organization, funding research and awareness for Lyme Disease.
Karla J. Ferrel
Karla Ferrel has been Colour Bar Studio’s salon director since its opening in July 2012.
As salon director, Karla juggles many roles. She is the first smile you will see as you walk into the Studio and is responsible for scheduling clients, managing schedules, daily business operations, and the salon marketing. She has been in the business since 2007 and quickly fell in love with the industry.
“My favorite part about the job is the client interactions and relationships I am able to build across the board with all clients. I love the business aspect and having a team and colleagues come together and collaborate to come up with something beautiful. I like taking care of clients and making them feel welcome and comfortable in our environment.”
“Ever since high school my passion for coloring and styling hair has grown. I enjoy creating, color correction and even perms. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I always do my best to fulfill the clients’ desired looks. Over the years I have discovered that the most satisfying part of being a hairstylist is being able to help clients see the beauty within themselves. It gives me joy to see them excited with the results of my services.”
“I’ve been in the beauty business for 15 years and I enjoy creating one of a kind looks with clients as well as keeping up with the latest trends in beauty. As for services, I can do hair extensions, textured hair, Keratin treatments, Balayage, babylights, shadowing, contouring up-dos and bridal up-do’s. To me, helping others is the most satisfying accomplishment. Being surrounded with smiles is something I want every day, and being a hairstylist gives me the opportunity to do that.”
”Around age 14, I began working as a shampoo assistant at a salon. That is when I quickly learned that I wanted to be a hair stylist. I’m a very creative and unique individual and making others feel unique is the most rewarding part of my career. Even after 16 years of being a licensed stylist, I can still create new looks on a client every day. On top of cutting and coloring, I can do Japanese hair straightening. Working hand in hand with my clients allows me to offer them the best service possible for each personal style.``
``I have worked in the beauty industry for over 20 years in a profession I’ve loved since high school. I continue to learn and improve by attending classes in coloring, hair cutting and styling. Along with my other services I am also certified in devacurl hair cuts and in Wella color, balayage, hair painting, and Color Contouring. My goal is for every client to step out of the salon feeling like they can take on the world - and look good doing it.”
